FENNEMORE CRAIG SPONSORS TEMPE STADIUM LUNCH OF THE ARIZONA COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE FOR WOMAN ("AZCREW")
February 27, 2001
Fennemore Craig Law Firm: Lawyer, Attorney, Legal Services

NATIONAL MISSION STATEMENT: The National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women is dedicated to furthering the success of its members by providing opportunities that foster productive and supportive relationships, and enhance personal and professional growth.

**** WELCOME TO THE 2001 YEAR****
WELCOME MEMBERS TO AZCREW 2001: Your 2001 Board of Directors is so pleased to welcome you to AZ CREW 2001. The new board has already met twice, and we are planning some great events and networking opportunities this year. Some of the ideas in the works for our special events include: a spa day, several dine-arounds at the homes of some of our members, a sports event, and a Construction 101 special seminar. Other ideas floated at the Board Meeting were allowing members to purchase a package of lunch meetings, advertising in BREW, and new sponsorship packages. The Calendar below represents only the events that we have finalized to date.

AZCREW CALENDAR SPRING 2001:

Thursday, March 1st AZ CREW Member Only Dinner: This is a great opportunity to get to know your "fellow" CREW members in a more intimate setting. RSVP to Trish Coury (602) 230-1243.

Tuesday, March 20th Lunch Meeting, "Real Estate Development by ASU," University Club: Scott Cole of ASU Programs will discuss real estate development at ASU, Rio Salado and on other ASU owned land. The focus of the program will be the future development in the area, and ASU's funding opportunities for this development. What are ASU's plans to piggyback the excitement of the new stadium in the area?

Saturday, March 24th AZ CREW Spa Day at the Camelback Inn: Networking by the pool after a first class massage - only in Phoenix! RSVP to Trish Coury (602) 230-1243 by March 12th.

Tuesday, April 17th Lunch Meeting, "Telco Buildings," University Club: A panel of developers, brokers and tenants will discuss the ins and outs of the new Telco building product that we are seeing across the Valley. What is it? How do you convert an obsolete office building to a Telco building ? How profitable can they be from a developer's standpoint? What is the demand for this product? New supply? Speakers to be announced.

Tuesday, May 15th Lunch Meeting, "Black Canyon Corridor," University Club: A panel of speakers including Bob Lundstedt of Cushman and Wakefield and Beth Jo Zeitzer of Del Webb will discuss the progress of one of the fastest growing areas in Phoenix. It is often said that the Black Canyon submarket boasts more Fortune 500 companies than any other submarket in Phoenix. With the 101 opening up soon, what more can we expect to see?

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS -- THE TEMPE STADIUM LUNCH MEETING WAS A WINNER!: AZCREW was so pleased to host more than 150 AZCREW members and their guests at our February 20th meeting at the Biltmore where a panel spoke about the new Arizona Cardinal Football stadium in Tempe. We would like to extend a special thank you again to our sponsors who played a major role in making this event so successful:

Most of all, we'd like to thank all of the AZCREW members who came to this event and brought guests. The audience questions were terrific!

That's why NNCREW is the only national professional real estate association able to be a "full-service network." When you look around the room at one of our monthly lunch meetings, you will find that at the Phoenix local chapter level this diversity is well exemplified. If you are interested in membership information for you or a friend, please contact Margaret L. Steiner, Esq. , of Shimmel, Hill, Bishop & Gruender, P.C. at mls@shimmelhill.com.

AZCREW 2001 BOARD: Even our 2001 Board of Directors includes women from a variety of commercial real estate sectors. THE E-NEWSLETTER: This is the first edition of the AZCREW e-newsletter. We are experimenting with the best ways to contact our members and guests. We chose the HTML format because it is easy to read and several companies prefer that we do not attach documents to e-mails. The downside is that some of you may find small errors in the formatting depending on how your system reads HTML. We are looking for your feedback, news suggestions, etc. Please contact Lori Cohen of Fremont Investment and Loan at lcohen@fmtinv.com with ANY feedback or if you want to be removed from the e-mail list. Thanks!
